Get to know Hezlep Bookkeeping + Advisory

Good questions.
Straight answers.

How are the two practices connected?+

Hezlep Bookkeeping + Advisory and Hezlep Nonprofit Advisors are DBAs of Hezlep & Associates, LLC. They are partner practices under the same legal firm. Hezlep Bookkeeping + Advisory focuses on recurring bookkeeping and advisory, with Form 990 services available to bookkeeping clients. Visit hezlepcpa.com for audits, reviews, standalone Form 990 services, and other nonprofit accounting needs.

Can you prepare our Form 990 as well as our books?+

Yes. Hezlep Bookkeeping + Advisory offers Form 990 services to bookkeeping clients. We can coordinate the annual return with your accounting records and year-end work. Form 990 preparation is included when specifically agreed in your engagement scope; it is not automatically part of every monthly bookkeeping arrangement.

Can we work with Hezlep Bookkeeping + Advisory if we’re outside Georgia?+

Yes. Hezlep Bookkeeping + Advisory offers virtual bookkeeping, outsourced controller, CFO advisory, and accounting consulting services to nonprofits across the United States. Meetings, document sharing, and monthly reporting are organized for remote collaboration; proximity to our Georgia mailing address is not required.

What does monthly nonprofit bookkeeping include?+

A monthly engagement can include transaction coding, bank and credit-card reconciliations, month-end entries, financial statements, and tracking by fund, program, or grant. We agree on the work, responsibilities, reporting package, and close schedule before the engagement begins.

Do we need a bookkeeper, a controller, or a CFO?+

Bookkeeping keeps records accurate and current. A controller owns the accounting process, reviews the work, and strengthens controls. A CFO uses the financial information for forecasts, budgets, and leadership decisions. Many organizations need a combination; we help define the appropriate scope.

How much do virtual bookkeeping services cost?+

Fees depend on the condition of your books, transaction volume, number of accounts, funding complexity, reporting needs, and level of review. We define the scope and fee before work begins. Cleanup and special projects are discussed separately so expectations are clear.

Can we explore the client portal before getting started?+

Yes. Our portal page links to an interactive preview with a fictional nonprofit and sample data. It demonstrates financial visibility, open questions, approvals, and reports. The portal is evolving; availability and included features are confirmed for each engagement.
